The Diamond Jubilee Fenland Black Oak Project
A 13.4 metre 5,000 year old sub-fossilised trunk of an ancient giant oak (Fenland Black Oak or Bog Oak) was discovered in the Norfolk Fens in March 2012.
The Diamond Jubilee Fenland Black Oak Project was founded to take this unique, fragile and precious specimen and turn it into a 13 metre masterpiece table and gift it to the nation as a way of preserving it for future generations.
